On June 19, 2025, Nov Reuveni of Kan News spoke with Weizmann President, Prof. Alon Chen, Prof. Idit Shachar, Department of Systems Immunology, and Dr. Leeat Yankielowicz Keren, Department of Molecular Cell Biology about the devastation.
Five buildings and more than 50 laboratories were damaged or destroyed. Approximately 400 students and their families have been displaced. Thankfully, there were no injuries or fatalities, but years of scientific research have been disrupted or lost.
